Dates you can book right now
The dates above come straight from our booking calendar, so they are the real open slots, not a guess. Delivery runs in two hour windows and collection is from 29 Farmway, Dagenham RM8 2SR. You can book weeks or months ahead, and you choose the exact slot before you pay.
How far in advance should you order a cake?
The honest answer is as soon as you know the date. Slots are first come, first served, so the earlier you book the more choice you have over the time of day.
- Everyday celebration cakes. A few days is usually enough. Weekend evening slots go first, so book those sooner.
- Birthdays and parties with a fixed date. A week or two is comfortable and means you are not chasing a slot the night before.
- Busy dates. Eid, Ramadan, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Christmas and exam results week fill up fastest. Two to three weeks ahead is sensible.
- Weddings, nikkah and large orders. Three to four weeks or more, and message us first so we can talk through tiers, flavours and setup.
We also close for short periods through the year. Those days simply do not appear in the calendar above, so you can never accidentally book one.
How booking ahead works
- Choose your cake. Browse birthday cakes, heart cakes, milk cake trays, cake bake trays or wedding, nikkah and engagement cakes.
- Add your personalisation. Names, ages, messages and colours go in the personalisation box on the product page.
- Pick your date and slot. In the cart, choose Local Delivery or Pickup, then select the date and time window you want.
- Pay and relax. Your date is booked. We bake it fresh for that day, never in advance and never frozen.
Occasions worth booking early
Anything with a date attached is worth booking the moment you know it. The ones people most often leave too late:
- Weddings, nikkah and engagements. See wedding, nikkah and engagement cakes.
- Milestone birthdays. 18th, 21st, 30th, 40th, 50th and 60th, often with a number cake or a two tier design.
- Eid and Ramadan. See Ramadan and Eid cakes.
- Baby showers and gender reveals. See gender reveal and baby shower cakes.
- Anniversaries. See anniversary cakes.
- Office parties, school events and large gatherings, where a tray feeds a crowd.

Frequently asked questions
Can I order a cake for a date next month?
Yes. Our calendar opens months ahead, so you can book a date well into the future. Add your cake to the cart and the available dates appear at the date picker.
How far in advance should I order a birthday cake?
A few days is usually enough for a standard celebration cake, but if the date matters, book as early as you can. Weekend evening slots are the first to go.
How far in advance should I order a wedding cake?
We recommend three to four weeks or more, and a message first so we can go through tiers, flavours, colours and delivery timing with you.
Do I pay now or on the day?
You pay when you place the order. That is what secures the date and the slot.
Will the cake be fresh if I order weeks early?
Yes. Ordering early books the date, it does not bake the cake early. Every cake is baked fresh to order for the day it is going out, never frozen.
Can I change my date after ordering?
Message us as soon as you can on 0208 597 5629 or Info@CakeTrays.co.uk and we will do what we can, subject to what is still open in the calendar.
Can I choose a time as well as a date?
Yes. Delivery is booked in two hour windows and collection in set slots, both chosen by you at checkout.
Are your cakes halal?
Yes, all our cakes are halal.
Do you take orders for large groups or corporate events?
Yes. Trays feed a crowd and we can quote for larger or repeat orders. See wholesale cakes or get in touch.
