We can often accommodate a two-tier cake at 48 to 72 hours' notice. What becomes harder at last-minute notice is bespoke design work that requires custom toppers (which take up to 4 days to prepare), unusual colour palettes that need specific colour matching, and significant deviations from our standard designs. The way to think about it is this. Our existing wedding cake range has over 14 designs, every single one of which can be ordered for last-minute delivery if we have capacity on the day. What you usually cannot do at short notice is custom design something completely from scratch. If you can pick from our existing collection, the path to last-minute is much smoother.

How Quickly Can We Actually Bake a Wedding Cake?

Here is the realistic timeline depending on when you order.

Same day delivery is available on selected single-tier wedding and Nikkah designs when you order before the cut-off shown at checkout. The cut-off is typically around 2 PM but varies by daily capacity, so always check the live cut-off at checkout when you select today's date. Same day works best for our Nikkah Mubarak Wedding Cake, our single-tier floral designs, and our smaller engagement cakes. For elaborate two-tier designs same day is sometimes possible but not guaranteed, so call us first on 0208 597 5629 to check.

Next day delivery is available on most designs in the wedding cake range and is the recommended option for last-minute orders where the ceremony is more than 24 hours away. This gives us a full baking day, which means more design flexibility, more time for personalisation details, and a better outcome overall. If your event is tomorrow or the day after, choose next day delivery rather than same day.

48 to 72 hours' notice opens up almost the entire range, including two-tier designs and most personalisation options. If you have anything from two to three days before the wedding, you have meaningful options. This is the sweet spot for last-minute orders.

One week or more gives you full access to every design, custom toppers, bespoke colour palettes, and the full range of personalisation options. This stops being last-minute and becomes a normal short-notice booking.

The design is straightforward, the topper is standard, and the build time is shorter than for elaborate two-tier cakes. It is also our most affordable wedding cake which makes it a strong choice if the rush is unexpected and the budget was not planned for a premium cake.

Rustic Chic Wedding Cake at £149.99 uses white roses and greenery in a relaxed, natural arrangement that does not require precise colour matching or bespoke decoration. Currently on sale and one of the easier designs to turn around quickly without compromising on appearance.

Vintage Two Tier Cake at £174.99 is the most realistic two-tier option for last-minute orders. The hand-piped buttercream design uses ivory and cream as standard which means no specialist colour matching, and the design itself is one of our most rehearsed in the kitchen. We can typically turn this around at 48 to 72 hours' notice subject to capacity.

What to Avoid for Last-Minute Wedding Cakes

Some things genuinely cannot be done at short notice and it helps to know what before you start asking. Fully custom toppers require up to 4 days of preparation time, so if you are within 72 hours your topper options are limited to the standard inscriptions on the product page. Specific bespoke colour palettes can be challenging if the colour requires custom mixing or unusual ingredients. Sticking close to the standard design colours is the safest route. Major design changes from what is shown on the product page are unlikely to be possible at short notice. The fastest path is to pick a design you genuinely like as it appears and add only minor personalisation. Tiered cakes above two tiers are not realistic at less than a week's notice. Are Last-Minute Wedding Cakes Halal?

Yes. Every cake in our wedding range is made using halal-friendly ingredients regardless of how quickly it is ordered. We do not use alcohol or animal gelatine in any of our cake products. Last-minute does not mean compromise on halal status. The same standards apply to a cake ordered six weeks in advance and a cake ordered 24 hours before the ceremony.
